Can you help the hospice in Bexhill?

ST Michael's Hospice has three very successful charity shops in Bexhill and Sidley and is looking for volunteers to help work in the shops during the week or at weekends.

At present due to a shortage of volunteers, the organisation is unable to open the shops for all the hours it needs, resulting in lost income.

St Michael’s Hospice has 10 shops across Hastings and Rother, which include the shops in Bexhill and Sidley. They raise a considerable amount of money towards hospice running costs which currently stand at £5 million a year. St Michael’s will also be opening two more shops during the next few months in both St Leonard’s and Bexhill.

The hospice is looking for anyone who has some spare time to work a morning or afternoon shift, ensuring the shops are open throughout the week.

Chris Jones, Head of Trading for the Hospice said:  “Our shops are an important source of income for the hospice and we desperately need volunteers to help in Bexhill and Sidley and in all our other shops across Hastings and Rother.

“The income generated through our shops goes a long way to support vital Hospice services that we are able to offer our patients and their families each year. This would not be possible without the help and support of our volunteers.

“We are holding volunteer information session for you to find out more at our shop at 27 Ninfield Road, Sidley, on Monday May 23 from 12noon to 1.30pm and at 79, Devonshire Road, Bexhill, on the same day from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
