On Thursday, September 4, in High Street, the Macmillan Cancer Support Team will be making an appearance to discuss any cancer-related questions posed by residents.

Michelle Smith, Macmillan’s information and support specialist, said: “On the mobile unit we are here to answer any question or concern related to cancer.

“If you just want to find out more about what symptoms you need to look out for, or if you are undergoing treatment and want to find out how to manage your side effects, or maybe you are caring for someone with cancer and are looking for some local support – come along and see us.”

The event is taking place between 10am and 4pm.

“It’s really important that people living with cancer are able to access the financial advice and support they are entitled to so they can focus on what’s most important: their health,” added Michelle.

The charity supports cancer suffers and all those who have been affected by the condition.

Staff with the organisation deal with everything from how to cope with the condition, to dealing with money worries.
