Canine Partners donation from National Express sets tails wagging

Tails have been set wagging by a donation made to a Canine Partners, just in time for International Dog Day.

Coach company National Express has presented £30,000 to assistance dog charity Canine Partners.The donation is part of a wider partnership between National Express and the charity.Canine Partners support people from all walks of life, including those injured in service, and the relationship forms a key element of National Express’s “Military Promise” - a commitment to support people in the Armed Forces.

Coach driver Shaun Stead presented the cheque.

He said: “As a driver we welcome on board people from all walks of life, including many people who have accessibility issues and are supported by assistance dogs. Travelling is such an important part of being independent and it makes me really proud National Express has reached this donation milestone and is working with Canine Partners to help even more people live life to the full”.

Anne Yendell, Canine Partners director of fundraising, marketing and communication said: “As a charity we rely on donations to help us support people all over the UK. Our partnership with National Express is helping us transform the lives of even more people by helping them live independently and we’re tremendously grateful to receive this donation”.

The gift is part of a wider partnership between National Express and Canine Partners which includes free travel to people training assistance puppies and fundraising in coach stations.

National Express coaches feature wheelchair lifts. and offers an accessibility coachcard.
