Cannabis factory found in Rye

Drugs and a cannabis factory were discovered in Rye on Friday (July 8).

Police found evidence of a cannabis factory when officers raided two flats in a block in Udimore Road at around 9am.

A 47-year-old man from Rye was arrested at the scene on suspicion of producing cannabis and intent to supply cannabis.

A basement flat in the High Street was also searched, with police seizing a quantity of cannabis.

Sussex Police told the Observer it was not possible to say at this time how much cannabis was found in the raid.

The man has been released on bail until September 1 while further enquiries are carried out.
