Car burst into flames

A car burst into flames when it collided with a van on the A259 at the London Road traffic lights.

The fire died down immediately and neither the driver of the Ford Ka or the Volkeswagen Transporter were injured.

A Bexhill fire crew was called to the emergency at 5.15pm on Saturday.

It is thought the car caught fire because of an electrical fault following impact, and meanwhile the van was carrying classic motor cycles which were found to be damaged. A second car was also involved but did not need recovering.

Significant damage was caused to a roadside barrier.
