Car crashes into bus shelter

A DRIVER crashed into a bus shelter.

The 23-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was treated for multiple broken bones at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The accident happened at around 00.40am on the A272 at Station Road on Friday in Newick.

A blue Ford Focus, which was travelling east, left the road and collided with the shelter.

Police said the driver was from the local area and no other vehicles were involved.
