Car crashes into East Preston building

A CAR crashed into the pillar of a building in East Preston today (Monday October, 11).

It happened in Station Parade, Station Road, at about 9.38am, when an automatic Peugeot, driven by a woman in her 70s, ran into the Lucky House Chinese takeaway.

The woman was treated for whiplash by paramedics, and a structural engineer was called to check inspect the building, before the car was towed away.

Jon Mays, station commander at East Preston fire station, said the building had not been damaged, but the car had been destroyed.
