A car has struck a gas pipe in Rye this morning (September 13), prompting a visit from emergency gas specialists.

Fire crews and police are at the scene of a crash in Rye, where a car had hit a gas pipe.

The call came in at 11.19am (September 13), to Cinque Port Street in Rye, after the crash.

A fire service spokesman said no-one was trapped in the crash, and the gas board has been notified.
