Car slams into tree before crashing into a lamp-post in Angmering

The incident involved a silver Fiat Panda and took place on the A259, near the Roundstone bypass roundabout, at about 7.41am.

The man behind the wheel was not injured, a police force spokesman said, and no arrests were made.

It is unclear how the incident took place. However, police have not directly appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

The damaged car has since been removed from the road.

There was no major disruption to traffic flow on the westbound carriageway of the A259, where the accident took place.

UK Power Networks has been advised about the collision, which left the concrete base of the lamp-post exposed.
