Car wheels sabotaged

Police Community Support Officer Suzie Bunch said: 'Clearly these are very serious incidents of theft and the owners of these vehicles as well as other road users may have been put in very grave danger by the mindless actions of the person responsible.

'One of the vehicles was driven but luckily the driver realised that the vehicle was faulty.

'Upon inspection it was discovered that the wheel nuts had been stolen, the hub cap had been replaced meaning that it was not obvious that the wheel nuts had been stolen.

'There could have been a very serious accident and police are very keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the Firle Green, Arun Path or Tower Ride area of Uckfield.'
