Cards for Good Causes launched in Chichester

A HARD-WORKING team of volunteers have been busy sorting out stacks of Christmas cards to sell for charity.

Mayor of Chichester Tony French launched the city’s Cards For Good Causes shop at The Old Court Room in the Council House, North Street.

The umbrella organisation, which sells cards on behalf of a number of charities, has been well-supported by the mayor, who helped out after it lost its previous site.

Regional organiser Judith O’Sullivan said: “We’re delighted to be opening in Chichester once again; everyone is so generous and it really helps us raise much-needed funds for the charities.

“Charity cards are a great way to buy once and give twice – once to the person who receives your card and once to your favourite charity.”

The shop relies on its dedicated team of volunteers, many of whom have been involved for years, to run the shop, and it always needs more helpers.

It will be open Monday-Saturday, 9.30am-4.30pm until December 19, selling cards from 46 different charities.
