This year’s theme is friendship and Westdene House, an Aspire Life Care home in Rye Close, Worthing, is working on various projects to display what friendship mean to the staff and residents.

The work will be on show from 3pm to 5pm and Worthing town crier Bob Smytherman will officially open the event.

“Westdene is truly committed to working with the local community in West Sussex. There will be refreshments, including tea and cake.”

Croft Meadow, a Shaw healthcare home in Tanyard Lane, Steyning, has arranged for Littlehampton singer Alexis Twine to perform hits from the 1970s at 11am.

Later on, Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Lisa Sampson will entertain visitors and residents with her wonderful hoola hoop tricks while they enjoy a topsy-turvy tea party.

Manager Sharalee Thrumble said: “As a part of the local community, we feel it’s important to open our doors and let people see what goes on at Croft Meadow, not just the services we provide but the community spirit that exists within the care home.

“I hope everyone who visits enjoys the entertainment and is able to celebrate with residents and staff throughout the day.”

Valerie Manor, a small family-run home in Henfield Road, Upper Beeding, will be opening its doors to the local community from 3.30pm to 5pm for Pimm’s and afternoon tea. Invitations have been sent out and require an RSVP.
