Southdown’s St Paul’s Court, in Richmond Road, Worthing, provides tailored 24 hour care and support to enable the nine people living at the service to live as independently as they can.

Staff, people supported by the service and their families got together on Saturday and shared memories from the past ten years. Worthing mayor Vic Walker was also in attendance.

Jo Terry, manager at St Paul’s Court, has worked at the service for the past eight years.

She said: “I feel very lucky that I have a job I enjoy and I love working with such an inspiring group of people. We have a great staff team who are dedicated to supporting the people that live here and really understand the individuality of each person.”

St Paul’s Court is one of 26 supported living services provided by Southdown across Sussex. Through tailored and individual support the residents work together to develop the necessary skills to live as independently as possible. Some of the people living at St Paul’s came straight from their parent’s homes to having their own flats.

Jo added: “It’s been really rewarding to see how over the years they’ve grown and developed into confident young adults, accessing and using the local community independently.”

Ian has lived at St Paul’s Court for more than ten years.

He said: “I like St Paul’s. I can get to my clubs and shops easily. I like living independently and looking after my flat.”
