Carnival deadline a week away

Thursday, April 23,is the deadline for contest entries.

It has been launched by town councillors as part of their decision to bring back the carnival on June 13.

Females who would like to represent the town at the event should send a head-and-shoulders photograph and brief details about themselves to the Observer.

The newspaper will publish all the candidates' photos and their names and ages to enable readers to vote for their favourites.

All entries will be published in the paper on April 30. There will then be a two-week voting period until May 14 using a coupon in the Observer.
