Carpe diem! Latin for Beginners course at Fishbourne Roman Palace

Fisbourne Roman Palace is offering a unique opportunity to learn Latin next month.

On Saturday, April 22nd, the Roman Palace is hosting a one-day Latin for Beginners course designed to bring the language to life, giving participants a chance to meet the classical authors and dip into their writing.

Through a mixture of presentation and discussion, the course gives an insight into the basis of many English words and includes the chance to hear the sound of classical Latin read aloud.

This enjoyable and informative one-day course for adults will be led by George Sharpley from The Latin Qvarter. The course is ideal for those interested in gaining a glimpse of the past through language. The mixture of historical references, vocabulary and grammar makes this an inspiring course for all, from complete beginners to those who would like to brush up on their knowledge.
