Cars damaged by vandals in Hailsham

Police in Hailsham are appealing for information after a number of cars were damaged overnight on Friday to Saturday (February 13-14).

Police said in Observatory View, a roof light was ripped from one vehicle and a wing mirror broken on another. Wing mirrors were also smashed from a silver Vauxhall Astra in Geering Park and a white Toyota Aygo in Moore Park. Finally, a Toyota Yaris in Bellbanks Road had its wiper blades ripped off and scratches made across its bonnet, police said.

PCSO Jack Matthews said: “We have received information that a group of young men were seen in the area around 1.20am on Saturday.

“This sort of thoughtless crime causes great distress and inconvenience to local people so I would ask anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area during this time or has any information about those responsible for the damage to email or call 101 quoting serial 103 of 14/02.”
