Catnappers on the prowl

A Bognor Regis man has condemned the thieves he claimed stole his family cat.

Patrick Hayden said he believed 14-week-old kitten Dave had been taken by someone from the street outside his home in Chapel Street.

Dave, a tabby, disappeared in mid-July and has yet to be found.

Mr Hayden said: "We'd only had Dave four weeks. He would not move more than two foot out of this house. Someone must have taken him.

"There are a lot of cats going missing from around here. I think people are selling them to pay for drugs. You don't just find a cat on the street and take it home, do you?"

Mr Hayden said Dave's disappearance had particularly upset his 13-year-old son, Alfie.

Anyone with information about Dave should contact Mr Hayden on 07852 281955.
