Cats' are well andlooking for homes

Bluebell Ridge Cat Rehoming Centre has announced that it is open again after being closed for a number of weeks due to cats with sneezing problems.

Myra Grove, centre manager for Bluebell Ridge, which is based at Chowns Hill, Hastings says all the cats in their care have recovered and they hope to find loving new homes before Christmas.

“We had to close the centre to stop the sneezing conditions from spreading and then the centre had to undergo a deep clean, which is a long and vigorous job,” she said.

“Thankfully I have a wonderful team of staff and volunteers who have worked very hard to get the centre open again.”

Anyone who would like to adopt a cat from Bluebell Ridge, is invited to visit their centre at Chown’s Hill between 11-3pm daily (closed for lunch 1-2pm) except Thursdays.

Bluebell Ridge is owned and operated by the Sussex East and Hastings Branch of the RSPCA. It is a separate charity within the national body and entirely self-financing.

Each year the Branch has to raise approximately £150,000 to keep the centre open and this is done through Fundraising, Events, Pod Sponsorship, Donations, Legacies and adoption fees for the Cats At The Centre.
