Holy Week: As the church reaches the climax of Holy Week, the Watch of the Passion will be held in St Laurence’s Church from 12pm until 3pm today, Good Friday and you are invited to come in at any time and sit in peace and meditation, staying for as long or short a time as you wish. There will be a Children’s Workshop and Way of the Cross held from 1.30pm in the Village Hall with a procession making its way up to the church during the afternoon. Tomorrow, Saturday, the church will be dressed with flowers and foliage ready to celebrate Easter Sunday and any contributions to this will be most welcome, but they will need to be there by 9am please. The Family Communion Service will be held at 9.15am on Sunday and will be followed by coffee and an Easter Egg Hunt in the churchyard.

Spring Show: Next Saturday, 11th April, the Catsfield Horticultural Society holds its Spring Show in the Village Hall from 2pm – 4pm, entrance 50p, children free. Schedules are still available but entry forms and money must be handed in by Wednesday 9th April to a member of the committee and they will be registered at 7pm in Hermon Cottage. There’s a wide choice of classes to enter and it’s always fun to come and see who’s won in the afternoon. All exhibits must be staged between 8.30am and 10.30am on show day, after which time the hall will be closed for judging. There will be a Raffle, Plant Stall, Teas and a Cake Stall, for which donations will be most welcome please.

Craft Fair@ Janet and Helen would like to thank all who took part in the craft fair and all those who came to browse, buy and generally support us. We had nine stall holders with a wide variety of crafts for sale and a steady flow of visitors both enjoying the crafts and the lovely cakes and refreshments available. There was a great atmosphere and all the stall holders are looking forward to our next craft fair on the 31st October.

We have made £145 for Parkinsons UK.

Sport: We played our last home game on Saturday against Old Hastonians when we could have drawn or even won, but lost 1 - 0, leaving us in danger of relegation. Two games loom over the Easter weekend, Saturday away to Old Hastonians and Monday away to Sibex.
