CCTV image of man wanted in attack released

BRITISH Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify in connection with an attack on a train that left a teenager with a broken nose.

BTP are appealing for information concerning the incident, which occurred on Saturday 6th March, on a train between Bexhill-on-Sea and Collington Halt.

PC Paul Gardner, a BTP investigating officer, said the incident took place between 12.50pm and 1.10pm on an Ore to London Victoria service:

"When the train arrived at Bexhill, the victim boarded and inadvertently pushed past a man who was already on board the train.

"The man became irate and threatened the teenager with violence before attempting to punch him.

"As the victim tried to defend himself the altercation escalated and the man began punching and kicking him about the head and face."

The attack left the victim, a 17-year-old from Bexhill, with a broken nose, bruising to his face and reddening to his neck.

Officers are making local enquiries into the incident and would like to identify and talk to the the man in the CCTV image.
