CCTV images issued after sexual assault on Bognor Regis to Barnham train

British Transport Police (BTP) detectives are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted on a train between Bognor Regis and Barnham.

Investigators have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place around 8pm on Thursday, 15 March.

As the train approached Barnham, a man approached the victim, an 18-year-old woman from Lancing, and tried to strike up a conversation.

He then tried to kiss the victim before touching her indecently.

Detective constable Vanessa Cottington, the investigating officer, said: “This man’s actions left the victim intimidated and very distressed and we’ll do everything we can to catch him.

“Offences like this are rare on the rail network but we treat them very seriously. If you recognise the man pictured in the CCTV image, we want to hear from you.”
