Celebrating musical talent

A CELEBRATION of student talents will be presented by the East Sussex Academy of Music on Wednesday, June 27, at 7.30pm.

The concert, at Lewes Town Hall, will involve students studying on the specialist A-level Music course based at Sussex Downs College.

The Academy Orchestra will perform Schubert’s Symphony No 6 alongside performances from the Wind Band and Academy Voices. In addition, ‘America’ from Bernstein’s West Side Story and a selection of short pieces will be sung by the full Academy Choir (with more than 70 voices).

East Sussex Academy of Music is a part of the East Sussex Music Service. It provides the only specialist Music and Music Technology A-level courses in East Sussex and has a fine reputation attracting students from neighbouring counties as well as from across East Sussex.

Music A-level students can also benefit from taking the Pre-Professional Diploma in Musical Performance.

Tickets are available on the door and everyone is welcome to come and celebrate the work that these young musicians have achieved over the past year. Tickets on the door are £6 (concessions £3; students and children free).
