Celebration of International Women's day in Bognor Regis

A LIVELY celebration of International Women's day is being held this weekend.

Saturday’s (March 10) event at the Laburnum Centre from 10am-4pm will be packed with a variety of activities for fun, creativity, discussion and learning.

One of the organisers, Annabell Alexander, said: “We are looking forward to an exciting day with women from all over the county and beyond. This is the 18th event organised by the Sussex International Women’s Day Group. We go from strength to strength.”

The day will feature dancing, singing, drama, belly dancing and accordion music.

Workshops are available on laughter, sexuality and women’s power, creative writing, and story telling. Therapists will be giving their services free to enable women to try out new approaches to health and wellbeing.

There will also be a chance to explore arts and crafts. The day will be opened by guest speaker Susan Croft – an expert in women’s history and the role of the theatre in the campaign for women to gain the vote.

Lunch will consist of subsidised food from many nations. Entrance is free and open to all women and children, including boys up to 12.
