Celebration Time

CHILDREN celebrated a special date in history by making calendars at Littlehampton Museum.

The It's Time for Children event came at the end of the museum's special exhibition marking the 250th anniversary of the Gregorian calendar's introduction, when extra days were added to the year.

Artist Kathryn Jones showed young visitors to the museum how to make 3D calendars and they were also able to look round the main exhibition, Time: Calendars, Clocks and History, and answer quiz questions based on the displays.

"The day went very well and we had a great turnout. Everyone went home happy with their hand-made calendars," said the museum's new assistant curator, Rolf Zeegers.
