Celebrations as Arun and Chichester hub raises thousands

The hub was set up by Voluntary Action Arun and Chichester (VAAC), with support from the University of Chichester and funding from Chichester in Partnership.

Another 13 fundraising opportunities are waiting to be confirmed and added to the amount already raised.

“The hub provides affordable fundraising support to local groups and organisations,” said a statement issued by Chichester District Council.

“It has one full-time paid fundraiser, who has recently created and supported a team of 11 volunteers who have been trained in fundraising.”

Council leader Cllr Heather Caird, who is chairman of Chichester in Partnership, said this exciting and innovative project was really making a difference to local community groups in the current financial climate.

Julie Budge, the hub’s senior fundraiser, said it was all about raising money for local groups which worked so hard for the community.

“Each success, be it £500 or £100,000+, gives us a real buzz as we know we make a real difference to local people out there who are working so hard to make it happen,” she said.

Local groups that are being supported include: Chichester Area MIND, Snakshak, Manhood Wildlife and Heritage Trust, St Anne’s Centre, Chichester Information Centre for Young People, Outset Youth Action, and 4Sight.
