Some of Britain’s best loved celebrities will put their antiques knowledge to the test when the hit TV show Celebrity Antiques Road Trip returns for a new series on BBC2 today (Friday).

Lewes is one of the venues to be featured when newsreader Angela Rippon and TV presenter Gloria Hunniford visit the Emporium Antiques Centre, in Cliffe High Street.

Starting the series today (7pm) will be Downton Abbey actress Phyllis Logan and Pirates of the Caribbean star Kevin McNally who visit Eastbourne Antiques Centre and the town’s Jasper Wood.

In each programme, two competing celebrities put their wit and bargaining skills to the test as they set out to find hidden gems, before trying to make the biggest profit selling them at auction.

On hand to help each celebrity is a well-known antiques expert.
