Celebrity Gossip, January 23: X-Files star ready to reprise role if TV show is revived

The actor played FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder in the sci-fi series from 1993 to 2002 and, following reports the programme could be brought back, he has told USA Today he is open to returning.

David said he would be “more than happy and excited to bring it back and do it again”.

However, the actor suggested he wouldn’t be interested in a full series, but some sort of limited run of the show, which saw Mulder and Special Agent Dana Scully (GILLIAN ANDERSON) investigating the paranormal.

“I’m assuming that it will happen sooner rather than later now. We’ll see what form, how many (episodes). Certainly I can’t nor would I be interested in doing a full season. It will be in some kind of limited form,” he said.

“We’re all old, we don’t have the energy for a full season,” laughed the 54-year-old.

TAKE THAT have admitted they would love to pen the next James Bond theme song.

GARY BARLOW, HOWARD DONALD and MARK OWEN’s new track Get Ready For It, features on the soundtrack to new spy movie Kingsman: The Secret.

But the lads confessed they’d love to write a theme song for the next 007 movie Spectre.

Howard told Digital Spy: “God, I’d would love to do a Bond theme, love a Bond theme.”

Gary added: “I think movies in general is a very exciting area for us.

“I think anything that’s British grown like Kingsman and James Bond, we’d be proud to be a part of.”

JAMIE DORNAN has praised his wife for giving him the green light to sign up for his saucy 50 Shades Of Grey role.

The Fall star plays Christian Grey in the movie, based on the erotic novels by EL James.

Jamie told OK! magazine that when he told his wife Amelia Warner he had been offered the part, she was pregnant with their 14-month-old daughter Dulcie.

“My wife is a brilliant, hugely understanding person,” he told the mag.

“She was an actress for 10 years, so she’s aware of what it’s like.

“A lot of people would have had a fit at 30-something weeks pregnant hearing, ‘Darling, we’re going to Vancouver this week for four months - we’re going to have a Canadian baby and I’m going to do a film where, for parts of it, I will be naked.’

“That’s a tough pitch, but my wife is an incredible person.”
