The centre, in Rife Way, Ferring, officially opened the facility last Saturday, as part of a busy Easter events weekend.

The play area features special equipment, such as basket swings and a floor level roundabout, which allows children with disabilities to use them and office co-ordinator Sam Kirk said it had been well received by visitors.

She said: “The play area was put in using funds from the Three Forts Marathon, which is a Rotary Club event, which supports us.

“It is really exciting and it has been so popular ever since the opening.”

She added: “The Easter event was really successful, too.

“Normally, we would take a net of £2,000 at an event, but this year we actually took £7,000.”
