Certificates for Reilley House health and safety

Local wrestling star Stu Allen was the guest of honour at presentation ceremony organised by East View Housing for residents.

Known in the ring as The Dominator, Stu forgot the body slams and concentrated on handing out certificates for 25 adults with learning disabilities who took part in a day-long Health and Safety workshop at Reilley House in Amherst Road.

The presentation was held in Bar Diva in Silverhill and organiser Pete Fuller of East View Housing said: "The whole workshop went well - it was about making it a fun day, but I think they took a lot out of it.

"The workshop was received well by all - it was absolutely brilliant."

The three prize winners of the health and safety poster competition were Steve Kelly, Barry Blunden and Mark Pollington.

East View Housing now plans to hold further health and safety workshops, inviting Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Services, and Rother's Environmental Health to join in as before to hand out information on personal safety issues.

Pete said: "We are looking now to offer this out to other similar services in the area - anyone interested can contact Nicki Wilson on 01424 213161. As a company we are looking now to be able to offer this to other companies but also to individuals with learning difficulties who live on their own."
