Chance to see steamengines in action

There will be a chance to see giant Edwardian steam engines in action at Brede Waterworks when the Brede Steam Engine Society holds an Open Day event on Saturday December 3 from 10am - 4pm.

The Waterworks are in the Brede Valley, signposted from the A28 at the top of Brede Hill by St George’s Church.

Admission is free and there is ample free parking. Refreshments will be availab;le throughout the day.

To complement the visitor interpretation material on display a more personalised presentation of historical and current items has been created. Under the direction of the Society’s Volunteer Archivist, and with the assistance of members who have built the display boards, a wide-ranging and fascinating story emerges, detailing the progress spanning the period from 1900 to the present day.
