Change of venue for Yapton fete

Mr Clayton has switched his August 15 fundraising occasion for Help for Heroes to the village green from a private garden.

The change has been necessary as the backing for the cause to help injured servicemen and women has grown.

He has also been boosted by confirmation that 1960s pop star John Leyton, who also starred in the classic film The Great Escape, will be appearing at the fete.

Mr Leyton will be signing memorabilia which will be on sale in aid of Help for Heroes.

Local semi-professional singer Stacey Turner has agreed to entertain the crowds as well and compere the fete.

Littlehampton Sea Cadets will be attending and providing a band for the fete, which opens at 1pm.

Other attractions include clothes stalls, cake sales, bric-a-brac, fun games, barbecue and auction. All the proceeds will go to Help for Heroes.
