This would involve him visiting Bolney Post Office at fixed times during the week to offer the service from the ‘host’ location.

The proposed hours for this are: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10.00-13.30.

A month long consultation starts this week, with Post Office field change advisor Caroline Hoare, saying: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Bolney and we are confident the hosted outreach service at this new location will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future. The Post Office has made a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

Meanwhile,Cuckfield Post Office, High Street, Cuckfield , will re-open as ‘a new local-style open-plan branch on Wednesday march 26’.

The former branch closed ‘due to operational reasons’ in October 2013.
