Charges in drink driving crackdown

Two motorists have been charged with offences as part of Operation Dragonfly, Sussex Police’s summer crackdown on drink and drug-driving.

Branislav Balaz, 46, was arrested at 10.10pm on June 5 after he was found sitting in his car on the A259 near Pevensey.

Balaz, of St Helen’s Park Road, Hastings, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on June 24.

Sarah Goodall, 51, was arrested at 4am on June 6 after she was found asleep in her car in Ashburnham Road, Ninfield.

Goodall, of no fixed address, was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on 8 July.

A total of 18 people have so far been charged with offences as part of the county-wide crackdown.
