Charity celebrates shop reopening

THE ribbons were cut on two charity shops by Adur council chairman Brian Coomber.

St Barnabas' Hospice has relaunched two of its shops in

Lancing and Southwick, which are the furthest east of all the

shops in the the charity's chain of 11.

There has been a StBarnabas' presence in Lancing since 1990 and the shop '“ the second oldest in the chain '“ moved to its current address in Queens Parade, North Street in 1998.

In that time, it has raised more than half a million

pounds for the hospice, thanks to its band of volunteers and

loyal customers.

The Southwick shop opened in Southwick Square in 2000

and since then, has built up a good trade, raising over

100,000 for the hospice.

Mr Coomber cut the ribbon and opened the relaunched Lancing shop first, before moving on to the second shop in Southwick.
