Charity Christmas lights display proving popular

Paul Ross-Dale and Jeremy Payne have transformed their Hill Farm Way front garden, working as a team to turn it into one of the brightest displays in the area.

Their efforts have already attracted scores of visitors through word of mouth, as the pair have been putting on a Christmas display for the last seven years.

It started with a single string of lights and has been getting more ambitious each time.

Paul said: “This time round, we have a fantastic new three-metre tall reindeer, plus we have a holographic Santa waving from the window at all our visitors, and all sorts of amazing lights.”

For the first time, they have decided to use the lights display to collect money for charity.

In the first ten days, they collected £175, which will go to St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House hospices, and Paul said they were really chuffed

“It’s going really well,” added Paul. “Everybody loves to come and look at our lights and they often make return visits with their friends.

“Some visitors say that they have come back especially to put money in the box, which is really amazing.”
