Charity donations

Generous staff at Arun District Council are donating more than £1,000 this Christmas to a children's charity.

Some 150 employees pay into the council's Christmas savings club each year. Interest from this is donated to the staff charity.

This is currently the Chestnut Tree House children's hospice near Poling. A representative from the hospice, community fundraising manager Ali Unsted, will collect a cheque for 1,105.81 from council chairman Cllr Ashvin Patel today.

Ms Unsted said: "We are so grateful to all the staff at the council for their amazing support throughout the year, and especially at Christmas."
