Motoring enthusiast Samantha Hill has taken over organising the annual road trip that was started by friends James Firth from Crawley and Richard Grant from Haywards Heath.

Now in its fourth year, the event will see fundraisers drive from Shoreham Airport to Tulley’s Farm in Crawley on Sunday, August 24. Registration is £5 for cars, £2.50 for motorbikes.

Sky TV motorsport presenter Gemma Scott will be joining the drive to Tulley’s, where the fun day will start at midday, including emergency service displays, craft stalls, bouncy castle, face painting and a hog roast.

Samantha said: “This year, we want to make the event bigger than before. The day isn’t just for the car lover and will be a fun day out for a great life-saving cause.”

The drive launched in 2010 with a whistlestop tour of air ambulance bases around the UK.

Since then, it has been held from Shoreham Airport to the Lavender Line, and from Isfield to the Spa Valley in Eridge, Kent.
