Charity fayre willhelp needy pets

NORTHIAM’S Blue Cross animal charity is inviting people to beat the winter blues by coming along to its annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a glass of mulled wine and their first mince pie of the season, while helping to raise funds for the homeless pets being cared for by the charity.

Centre manager, Maria Marmo, said: “We’re getting into the Christmas spirit nice and early here at Blue Cross and we hope lots of our supporters will come along and start getting stocked up for Christmas.

“ We couldn’t help the pets that come into the centre without our fantastic supporters, so we hope as many people as possible will come along to share a mince pie or two at our Christmas fayre.”

There will be the chance to pick up the latest range of animal-themed Blue Cross Christmas cards and 2013 calendars and prizes to be won in the tombola and raffle. Children can meet star guest, Eric the donkey, as well as picking up a pressie in the lucky dip.

Money raised at the fayre will help dogs like Scooby the lurcher, just one of the dogs at the Northiam Blue Cross centre hoping to be happily rehomed in a new home of his own in plenty of time for Christmas. One-year-old Scooby is a happy, friendly chap, who enjoys human company. He would love to find a new owner who could help him continue with his training. Scooby would really enjoy living with an active family, possibly with older children, as long as they get on when introduced at the centre.
