Charity to be based in Bognor

A countywide charity is looking to open a new head office in Bognor Regis.

The Capital Project Trust wants to change the use of an empty unit in Madeira Avenue from a shop to an office for six part-time employees. Arun District Council will consider the application.

The premises in Madeira Parade were last used to sell pools and spas.

The trust is in its 11th year of improving the lives of people experiencing mental and emotional distress.

It is a mental health service user-led organisation and made up of people who have received, or are receiving, treatment for mental health issues.

Beverley Smith, its business and charity co-ordinator, said the project's name stood for clients and professionals in training and learning.

Opening the office would replace two current sites in Bognor and Worthing.

The intended premises were bigger and would help keep down costs, improve internal communications and provide one point of contact. Access to the proposed premises was also easy, she added.
