Charlie's fundraiser success for hospice

It was all about giving back to a charity that holds a special place in the local community.

Councillor Charlie Clark saw three dear friends cared for by St Michael's Hospice and having set his heart on fundraising he held an event at Pebsham Community Centre this weekend.

The evening achieved more than 500 which Cllr Clark was "thrilled"

by.

He commented: "It went extremely well - the night was very well

supported. We had two lovely bands and the cancan dancers came too and everyone really enjoyed that.

"We were very thrilled - I am really pleased because I didn't expect

to get that much with the recession and people watching their pennies. But it was an absolutely marvellous event."

The "excellent"entertainment was provided by Nelson King with his

blend of rock-blues, and Andy Blood And The Donors, who also had the audience rocking. The french ooh-la-la was courtesy of East Sussex School of Performing Arts in London Road.
