Charters Ancaster Open Morning

Charters Ancaster Preparatory School and Nursery opened its doors last Saturday morning to prospective parents.

Visitors were shown around by senior pupils and the guests were impressed by their competence and polite manners.

The school's youngsters had arranged stunning displays including model bridges made by older children and model oxen made by the reception class as part of their Chinese New Year Celebrations.

Guests also viewed the newly created all-weather pitch and nature trail, with one parent commenting: "It's so nice to see outdoor activities play such a major part in Charters Ancasters curriculum".

Great interest was shown in the Key stage One scholarships for Sports, Music and the performing arts.

Mrs Miriam Black, head of Key stage one, said: "I was surprised by the number of grandparents who are supporting their grandchildren's education, it falls in line with the schools family ethos and helps to nurture a caring environment in the school."

The purpose roomy built nursery was also well received and was adorned by the nursery children's colourful artwork.
