Chelsea pensioner's plea to missing daughter

A CHELSEA Pensioner has made a desperate plea to his missing daughter from Ferring to get in touch.

Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Elaine Taggart, a 48-year-old mother-of-two who disappeared almost two months ago.

At a press conference on Monday, 90-year-old Douglas Hassall said: "If my daughter Elaine is watching, will she please contact the police and let them know she's safe and well.

"We are all very worried about her."

Mr Hassall travelled down from the Royal Hospital Chelsea to Littlehampton to make the appeal.

He said: "Elaine, please, please get in touch with the police. Let them know you are well for our sakes."

The last confirmed sighting of Mrs Taggart, who works as the catering finance manager for Chartwells at Brighton College, was on January 3. Her red Fiat Punto, registration N988 YJB, was found in Goring Street, a short distance from Goring railway station and five minutes' drive from her home on January 4.
