Players were Woman FIDE Master, Rasa Norinkeviciute and International Master Francis Rayner. Each player had a team of four bowmen, all members of the Bayeux Bowmen.

Each player nominated which piece they wished to move and the archer would aim to hit the appropriate segment of the specially designed target.

If the move was illegal or the arrow missed the target the next bowman would aim to hit the same segment.

If it were missed again then a pawn had to be moved.

The new sport is the brain-child of Stewart Reuben, long-time member of Hastings International Chess Congress.
