A big range of adult and children’s coats have been donated and taken by those in need since the Observer launched it with the Four Streets Project at the start of the month outside HSBC.

Donna Ockenden from the Four Streets Project said: “It’s now getting warmer so the need is not as great but I know homeless people have benefitted from it, as well as men, women and children.

“It’s been an amazing success and we’ll look to bring it back in October. The response has been so good we are now looking at other community initiatives.”

The Observer and the Four Streets Project would like to say a huge thank you to HSBC for managing the rack, as well as the many people who have donated their spare coats to help those in need.
