Chichester cyclist assaulted in residential area

AN 18-year-old man has been arrested after a cyclist was hit and kicked by a group of men on Saturday (October 30).

AN 18-year-old man has been arrested after a cyclist was hit and kicked by a group of men on Saturday (October 30).

The male cyclist, 43, was taken to St Richard’s Hospital after suffering head and facial injuries during the assault which took place at around 5pm in Stockbridge Gardens.

The group left in a silver VW Golf which has now been seized by police. A man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and was released on police bail until Friday, November 12 while police continue their investigation.

Sussex Police want help from members of the public to identify the other men involved.

One man is described as white, aged 16 to 20 and 5’6 to 5’9 in height. He was of slim build with short, cropped, light blonde hair and was described as wearing a white T-shirt with grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
