Chichester farm shop unveils new look

The shop in Lagness Road, Chichester started the work in April.

Simon Kendall, owner of the farm shop, said: “We have always looked at other farm shops and what they are doing and thought it was time to do something with the shop.

“We didn’t want to disrupt our customers so we didn’t close the shop, which is why it has taken a little longer, we just sectioned areas off as we went along.”

The refit has seen new flooring, lighting and shelving being installed.

The family run business has been in Chichester for 30 years.

“We grow 40 of our own crops around the year,” said Simon. “And in the summer months we do pick your own.”

The shop also stocks ‘50 to 60 other local suppliers and businesses’, including Cook which sells home-cooked style ready meals.

With a smooth transition from the old to the new Simon said he couldn’t have done it without his staff.

He said: “I have a great team here including Robert and Kaz, Hans the butcher manager, and Sue who runs the deli.

“It is a seven day operation and they make sure everything runs smoothly.”

TFW Construction Ltd based in Selsey, run by Trevor Widdowson, built the bespoke oak display units and the new tiled floor was undertaken by Coastal Stone in Chichester.
