Chichester jobs boost as new store set to open

Wickes has announced it has employed 26 people for its new store.

The store supplies trade quality DIY and home improvement products and its new store in Barnfield Drive in Chichester will open on Wednesday, July 13.

Tim Wordley, branch manager, said: “The staff are a diverse team ageing from 16 to 60, and were recruited based on their people skills.

“The team members come from all walks of life including ex police officiers, ex builders, previous small business owners and college pupils.”

The chain also has plans to open a new Wickes towards the end of the year in Bognor with an aim to create more local jobs.
