Chichester weight watchers climb mountain

TWO Weight Watchers will climb a mountain after losing ten stone between them.

Lucy Dubickas, 25, from Chichester, and Vikki Shelley, 30, from Hambrook, are set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro next August to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Both women joined Weight Watchers last year and were of the opinion that exercise was not for them; but soon changed their minds.

Lucy has lost four stone since she joined in July 2011.

She didn’t think exercise was for her, “But as the weight dropped off, I felt more confident and decided to attempt trying new activities. I haven’t looked back.”

Fellow climber Vikki has lost nearly six stone after seeing photos from a family holiday.

She said: “Seeing those pictures just made me feel awful about myself, and I realised I had to do something about it.”

Vikki joined Weight Watchers meeting in August, and Lucy and Vikki now both regularly attend exercise classes to maintain their new healthy lifestyles and have begun training for their biggest challenge yet: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Kirstie Embleton, their Weight Watchers leader, said: “It is such an inspirational story and I’m very proud to have been a part of it. The girls have achieved so much already and their new vigour for life and exercise has been a joy to witness.
