Children are inspired by author's visit

STORY time came to life for pupils in Bognor Regis.

Children in Years 1 and 2 at Edward Bryant School had the chance to stretch their imaginations when well-known children’s author Ronda Armitage and her husband, illustrator and artist David, visited the London Road school.

The Armitages, best known for their books about Mr Grinling, The Lighthouse Keeper, worked with the children to make up new exciting adventures.

Whilst Ronda and the children came up with the ideas, David brought them to life in front of their eyes. His wonderful illustrations had the stories leaping from the pages. The visit was part of the school’s drive to enthuse children about books and storywriting.

It has left many budding authors and illustrators raring to go, and youngsters have been busy creating and illustrating their own stories for others to enjoy.
