Children explore landscape via Heathfield and Crowborough schools

PARKSIDE School, Heathfield and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Crowborough have just signed up to the High Weald Heroes education scheme which encourages children to explore their surrounding landscape.

These two bring the current total of schools involved in the High Weald AONB to 60 and the number of Wealden schools involved to 15.

High Weald Heroes is an educational and interpretive programme that is run and managed by the High Weald AONB Unit to encourage young people to learn more about nature and the environment.

The High Weald Heroes scheme offers children a wide range of pick and mix activities that include themed assemblies, workshops and field trips, allowing them to explore important features and historical evidence in their local landscape.
